AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE CITY LIMITS AND BOUNDARIES OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK,
TEXAS, SD AS TO AMX AND INCLUDt WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF LUBB
THE PROPERTY HZREINAFTFR DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS AND BEING KNOWN AND OTHERW
DESCRIBED AS THE COOPER ADDITION AND THE THREE TRACTS OF LAND LYING IMMEDIATELY
SOUTH OF SAID COOPER ADDITION.
WHEREAS, a majority of the inhabitants, qualified to vote for members of the
Legislature, of the territory hereinafter described and Which adjoins the City
Limits of the City of Lubbock, have duly petitioned the Mayor and City Commission
and voted in favor of becoming a part of the City of Lubbock, and.,
WHEREAS, the petition also includes inhabitants and./or property owners of the
area which constitutes a majority of the inhabitants of said territory being then
and there qualified to vote for members of the Legislature of Texas, and,
WHEREM� three of the qualified voters inhabitants of the area have made affi-
davit as required by Article 974, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, and other legal
provisions, such petition and affidavit constitutes the vote of the said persons
and has been duly filed with the Mayor Who has duly certified it to the City
Commission for appropriate action, and,
WHEREAS, the said territory adjoins the existing City Limits and boundaries of
the said City of Lubbock and said territory being bounded by the city limits of saii
City of Lubbock save and except the South boundary line of said territory and
approximately one-fourth of the East boundary line of said territory, and, said
territory does not exceed in width one-half mile, and is in line of development,
growth and expansion being experienced by the City of Lubbock, and the Governing
Body of the City of Lubbock deems inclusion of the entire area within the Corporate
Limits of the City of Lubbock to be in the public interests and so that sewage
facilities may be afforded said territory in the interest of the public health and
sanitation in said territory and the City of Lubbock, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
The existing and present City Limits and boundary of the City of Lubbock is
hereby extended so as to annex and include within ihe corporate limits of the•City
of Lubbock, the following described property.
Beginning at a 3/4 inch iron pipe set for the Southeast corner
of Section 15, Block B. Lubbock County, Texas,, also the South-
east corner of this tract and for point of beginning;
THENCE North on the East line of said Section a distance of
1320 feet;
THENCE West along the present city
of 30th Street 660 feet;
THENCE South 1320 feet;
THENCE East along the South line of
660 feet to the place of beginning.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.

TO THE FOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TESASt
WE, the undersigned persons are inhabitants of and live within the territory
and tract of land herein described., are qualified to vote for members of the
Legislature of Texas and hereby vote in favor of said tract of land, which said
tract adjoins the limits of the City of Lubbock, becoming a part of the City of
Lubbock for all purposes, said tracts of land being the "Cooper Addition", and_
the three tracts of land lying immediately South of said Cooper Addition, and all
being described by metes and bounds as follows:
Beginning at a 314 inch iron pipe set for the Southeast corner
of Section 15, Block B. Lubbock County, Texas, also the South-
east corner of this tract and for point of beginning;
THENCE north on the East line of said Section a distance of
1320 feet;
THENCE West along the present city limits and center line
