SECTION 204&1 • M to Jlltm:Bn ~Bit RL BONDS REQUIRED UNDER SECTION 204 OF SAID
ORDINANCE SlWaL BE EWBCTIVE WHEN APPROVED BY THE CITI ATTORNEY 1 AND REPEALING
THAT PORTION OF SECTION 204 OF ORDINANCE NO. 587, REQUIBilil APPROVAL OF SAID BONDS
BY THE CITY COMMISSION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE Cl![ OF LUBBOCK&
SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 58? 1 is hereby amended by adding Section 204a, which
shall read as follows&
•section 204-a. The Building Inspeotor shall submit all bonds required
to be filed under the provisions of Section 204, to the City Attorney
tor inspection as to form and condition of the various bonds and when
said bonds have been approved by the City Attorney~> or an authorized
assistant, as to form and condition and such approval has been written
upon the face of the bond, the same shall be immediately effective
and the principal deemed to have complied with such bond provisions
of the ~rdinance.•
SECTION 2. All provisions of Section 204, of Ordinance No. 587, requiring
· approval ot General Contractor Bonde, Bond for Moving Buildings, Sub-contractor
Bonde, Gas Fitter's Bonds, Electrician's Bond, Public Works BoDd, Sign Board Bond,
Plumber's Bond, Carpenter 1 s Bond, Plaster's Bolld, Mason's Bond, or any other bonds
provided therein, by the City Commission are hereby repealed.
SECTION J. The fact that wmeces8&17 delays are now being occasioned due to the
inadequa07 of existing procedure relative to the approval of bonds as set out in
Section 1 of this Ordinance, and such approval is ministerial in nature when
principal• involved have complied with provisions of the ordinance relati.ng to per ..
mi. ts and bonds and such procedural che.nge is considered in the public intereat,
creates an &Eergency that all rules requiring the reading or ordinances on two
separate days be suspended and the same are hereb,r suspended and this ordinance sh
become effective immediately upon its passage and approval b.r the City Commissioza.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
