Coo.NER; THENCE NORTH 1590 FEET TO THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF BUCK 76, ll/ICCRUMMEN'S SECOND ADDITION TO THE TOWN OF 1.UBBOOK; THENCE EAST 710 FEET TO A :PODT IN THE EAST BOUNDARY LINE C1F SAID SURVEY 9; THENCE SOUTH WITH THE EAST BOUNDARY LINE OF SAID SURVEY 9, BLO::K B, 1590 FEET TO THE PLACE OF BEGINNING. AS SHOiN BY THE PLAT ATTACHED HERET·O. wHEREAs, the two alleys de ~cribed in the caption of this trdinance are no longer needed for alley purposes except in accordance with the reservation hereinafter made and the Lubbock Independent School District owns the entire tract of land above described by metes and bounds and has petitioned the City of Lubbock to relinquish all easements held by the City of Lubbock pertaining to said alleys so that the Lubbock Independent School District m~ meet an imperative public need to use the entire tract of land for school purposes and the City Commission finds that such relinquishment and abandonment by the Cit.y of said alleys is in the public interest, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDADOO BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOOK, TEXAS: THAT, the two alleys running East and West between Avenue "P" and Avenue "Q" and bisecting the tract of land described in the caption of this ~dinance are hereby abandoned and the City of Lubbock hereby relinquishes its easements therein, provided however, the City of Lubbock reserves an easement in the no»thern most alley for all purposes of ingress and egress to service and maintain a sewer line existing in said alley. S , PEI'ITION FCR RELINQUISHMEm' <F EASEMENI' TO: THE HON<RABLE CITY COOUSSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBCCK, TEXAS N<M canes your pet it ioner, Lubbock Independent School District, Incorporated, a municipal corporation, with its principal place of business in Lubbock, Lubbock Courxt;y, Texas, and would respectfully shov1 as follows: That your petitioner is the owner of the following described pr~es, to-wit: A part of Section 9, Block B, Seale and Morris, Original Grantees, in Lubbock County, Texas,. being: F orth 850 feet of that tract or parcel of land described llows: Beginning at the Southeast Corner of said Survey 9; Thence West with the South boundary line of said Survey 9, Block B, 710 feet to a point for a corner; Thence North 1590 feet to the Southwest corner of Block 76, McCrununent s Second Addition to the Town of Lubbock; Thence East 710 feet to a point in the East Boundary line of said Survey 9; Thence South with the East boundary line of said Survey 9, Block B, 1590 feet to the place of beginning; 2. That former cmners of the above described property have by deeds duly executed conveyed easements in and through the above described property to The City of Lubbock, Texas, which constitute alleys and ways for public use; 3. That in order to use said property for school purposes it will be necessary and be to the best interests of the public generally and a benefit thereto that this Commission pass an ordinance relinquishing all easements of whatever kind or character heretofore granted the City of Lubbock in and through the above described property. •
