AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING oRDIN.Al£E 11>. 661, BY REVISING AND ADDING CERTAI:tl
DEFINITIONS OF WORDS AND TERMS AND I:OOLUDING 'l'EA ROOKS IN A 110" DISTRICT, AND
WASBATERIAS IN AN "F" DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission has recOIIIDiended to the City COIIlllis-
sion that changes be made in Zoning Ordinance No. 661, as expressed b.f the terms
of this ordinance and in consideration of such recommendation, the City Commission
caused notice of hearing thereon to be published in the 1.u.bbock Avalanche Journal
December J, 1946, December 10, 1946 and December 17, 1946, and,
WHEREAS, said notice was so published and the public hearing according thereto
was held in the City Comm.ission Room on the second floor of the City Hall in the
City of Lubbock at 2&30 o'clock P.M., January 9, 1947, at which time interested
persons appeared at said hearing, and after which said hearing the City Commission
determined that it would be to the best public interest that ~dinance No. 661, be
amended in substantial compliance with the recommendation of the Zoning and Planning
Commission, THEREFOBE, .I
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK&
THAT, Ordinance No. 661, be amended as follows &
Section 1. That Section 2 of said ordinance be aaended so that the detinit1ou
of the following words or terms shall be&
0 Tea Rooms & A place where tea, meals, lunches, drinks and entertainment
are furnished bona fide organizations and groups on a private
basis by agreement between the proprietor and such groups,
and which is not open for service to the public generally.
lasha~erias: A building or place where clothes and linens are washed
and thoroughly dried by the use of not exceeding three employees
and 40 automatic single family machines and where the opera~
tion of washing and/ or drying and/ or mangle machines is done
exclusive~ by the customer on a self•service basis, and
where the tuel and power for heating water and drying shall
be smokeless and odorless, and such as will not cast ott
soot; and where adequate of'f street parking space on, or
within 200 feet of the premises is provided for patrons
with a minimum of one automobile parking space tor each
two machines.
Section 2. That Section V of said ordinance be amended to include the
following use&
(12) Tea Rooms
Section J. That Section VI o£ said ordinance be emended to include the
following ueea
{7) Washaterias
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
