HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 788-1946 - Levy Taxation Upon All Property Subject To Taxation - 08/26/1946) oe-2JLJ-\.9L+U> ORDINANCE NO. 788 0~ .. 12-1..9Lf{p AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A TAX UPON ALL PROPERTY SUBJECT TO TAXATION WITHIN THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, 'I'EXAS, FOR THE SUPPORT OF THE CITY FOR THE YEAR 1946, APPORTIONING SAID LEVY AIVIONG THE VARIOUS FUNDS AND ITEMS FOR WHICH REVENUE MUST BE RAISED, LEVY- ING AN OCCUPATION TAX UPON ALL OCCUPATIONS TAXABLE AND FIXING THE TIME IN WHICH SAID TAXES BE PAID, AND ASSESSING PENALTY AND INTEREST FOR THE NON PAYMENT OF SUCH TAXES WITHIN THE TIME SET. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS: SECTION 11 There shall be levied and assessed upon all property subject to taxation within the City of Lubbock, Texas, for the year .l946, the sum of $1 .00 per $100.00 valuation thereof, and the same shall be applied to the various funds in the following manner: .50 per $100.00 valuation -to the Interest & Sinking Fund .45 per $100.00 valuation -to the General Fund .05 per $100.00 valuation -to the Board of City Development Fund SEOTIDN 2: All ad valorem taxes shall be paid befo~e the first day of February, 1947, and taxe s not paid Qy that date shall hPve to said taxes added the sum of 10% penalty and bear interest from said date at 6% and thereafter such fees and costw shall be added as provided by law for State and County Taxes. SECTION 3: There is levied upon all occupations taxable oneā€¢half (1/2) the sum charged by the State of Texas for pursuing such occupation.
