HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 769-1946 - Extending The City Limits To The City Of Lubbock - 04.11.1946ORDINAME NO. 769 Ott - 25 -- 194" } AN ORDINAME RMZING THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY C!F LWHOOK, 30 AS TO ANNEX AND IMLUM WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS C F THE CITY CF LHSBOOK, THE FQiH.M NG DES- CRIBED PROPERTY, KNOWN AS sWESTRIDGE ADDITIOr, Wf�Fi'RYOS, a majority of the inhabitants, qualified to vote for members of the Legislature, of the territory hereinafter described and which adjoins the City Limits of the City of Lubbock, have duly petitioned the Mayor and City Commission and voted in favor of becoming a part of the City of Lubbock, end, rMERIAS, in addition to the foregoing petition other persons owning property with is the described area, but who live outside the area, have also petitioned that the area be brought within the City Limita, and, WMMAS, three of said persons so qualified have made affidavit as required by 'Article 974, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, which petition and affidavit consti- tute the vote of the said persons and, have been duly filed with the Mayor who has duly certified the same to the City Commission for appropriate action, ands WHRREAB, said territory adjoins the existing City Limits and boundaries of the ilCity of Lubbock and does not exceed in width one-half mile, THMUGRE,- BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION (F THE CITY OF IUBBOCKi The existing and present City limits and boundary of the City of Lubbock is here- �by extended so as to annex and include within the Corporate limits of the City of Lubbook, the following described property= Beginning at the center of the intersection of 26th Street and.
