WHEREAS, Wo C. Wood and Wife, Altamae Wood, Clark Wood, John G. Wood and wife, Ann Clark, Akry S. Lovell, a Widow, and Pearle 19. Buckner and husband, T. E. Buckner, by their petition addressed to the City Commission of Lubbock, Texas, dated March U, 191+6, have shown that they are the sole owners of the tract of land therein described, lying ajacent to the city limits of the City of Lubbock, that there are no inhabitants living on such property, that the petitioners are qualified to vote for members of the Legislature and as such owners by said peti- tion vote in favor of incorporating said tract of land within the boundaries of the City of Lubbock for all purposes, the plat of said addition having been desig- nated as "Woodlawn" Addition, and, WHEREAS, said territory described in the petitionadjoins the existing city limits of the City of Lubbock in that it corners therewith and is connected at such corner by a public street included within the boundaries described in this = ordinance, and the territory does not exceed in width one-half mile, THEREE'�iE, BE IT CHDAINED BY THE CITY C00AISSION OF THE CITY {F LUBBOCK, TEASt • Section L. Wilson City Attorney City of Lubbock Lubbock, Texas Dear Mr. Wilson: In keeping with our conversation of this morning with reference to the incorporation of Woodlawn into the City of Lubbock, it is stipulated by and between the writer as attorney for the petitioners and you as attorney for the City of Lubbock that the petitioners will, in the deeds to each of their respective lots in Ifoodlawn, as the same are by them conveyed, that the said deeds will contain the following provision: "As a part of the consideration for this con- veyance it is agreed and understood by and between the grantor and the grantee herein that the property here conveyed has been legally and properly incorporated within the City Limits of the City of Lubbock, Texas, and the same is subject to city -taxation for 1946 and subsequent years." I have just had a conference with dr. W. C. Wood, and he has authorized me to make the above stipulation with you, and a copy of this letter is being furnished to each of the dedicators, who are the petitioners in securing the incorporation of Woodlawn into the City Limits of the City of Lubbock now. Mr. Wood further advises that he is furnishing to each of the respective property owners an ample supply of deeds with the above stipulation incorporated therein, said deeds being furnished for the purpose of convey- ing lots in Woodlawn.
