HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 749-1946 - Extending The City Limits Of Lubbock - 02.28.1946it 02 - 2B - f 91i Lv ORDINANCE NO. 749 o3-2B- 1945 gN ORDINANCE EMNDING THE CITY LIA&ITS OF THE CITY OF LIBBOCKt WHEREAS, a majority of the inhabitants, qualified to vote for members of the Legislature, of the territory hereinafter described and Which adjoins the City Limits of the City of Lubbock, have duly petitioned the Mayor and City Commission and voted in favor of becoming a part of the City of Lubbock, and, WHMYAS, three of said persons so qualified have made affidavit as required by Article 974, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, Which petition and affidavit constitute the vote of the said persons and have been duly filed With the Mayor Who has duly certified the same to the City Commission for appropriate avtion, and, WHEREAS, said territory adjoins the existing City Limits of the City of Lub- bock and does not exceed in Width one-half mile, THEREFORE, BE IT MMINED BY THE CITY COS AMsION CF THE CITY a' LUBBOCK& The existing and present City limits and boundary of the City of Lubbock is hereby extended so as to annex and include Within the corporate limits of the City of Lubbock, the following described propertys Beginning at a point in the present City Limits line at the intersection of the projection of the South property line of 19th Street and the center line of Tyler Avenue; THE CE West along the North line of Block 1, Westlawn Addition to the Northwest corner of said Block; THENCE South along the West line of Blocks 1 and 2, Westlawn Addition to the intersec- tion of the center line of 21st Street; THENCE East along the center line of 21st Street to a point in the present City Limits to the center line of Tyler Avenue; THENCE North to the place of beginning.
