WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission bas recommended to the City Commission that changes be made in Zoning Ordinance No. 661 as expressed by the terms of this ordinance and in consideration of such recommendation, the City Commission caused notice of hearing thereon to be published in the .Lub• bock M>rning Avalanche Jnn. 24, J q n • 3~ 1946 and Fe brm.t ry ? , 1946, and whereas, said notice was so published and the public hearing according thereto was held in the City Commission Room on the second fl0or of the City Hall in the City of Lubbock at 2:.30 o'clock P.M., F e b. 14 , 1946, at which time interested persons appeared at said hearing, and after which said hearing the City Commission determined that it would be to the best public interest that Ordinance No. 661 be amended in substantial compliance with the stated recommendations, THEREF~, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSI..ON OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS& That .Ordinance No. 661, commonly knO\vn as the Zoning Ordinance, be amend- ed as follows: -section 1. That Section 2 of said ordinance be amended so that the defi- nitions of the following words or terms shall be: Farming or Truck G~ning: A tract of land cultivated by an owner or tenant for the purpose of supplying provisions and/or food, primarily for his own use. Lot~ An undivided tract or parcel of land neither separat- ed by a platted alley, street, or parcel of land dedicated or ·used for public purposes. Nurseries; A place where trees, shrubs, or flowering plants are raised from seed or otherwise in order to be transplant- ed-or propagated. No retail sales. Greenhoyses: (Suggested for G Zone) A building consisting of glazed frames or sashes -often artificially heated -used for the purpose of cultivating plants too tender to endure open air. Retail sales ~ be made on the premises. Dance Hall: Any place open to the public in which persons move with either backward, forward, or side steps, leaps or jumps regulated or accompanied by music. 1. Section 2. That said ordinance be amended by inserting the following pro- visions to be numbered Section III-A and entitled IIRegulation for All Districts": c [ •tNo building shall be erected, converted, enlarged, reconstructed or structurally altered, nor shall any building or land be used which does not comp~ with all the district regulations established by this ordinance for the district in which the building or land is located." Section 3. following use: That Section IX of said ordinance beenended to include the (29) Public Kennel Section 4. following ; use: That Section V of said ordinance be amended to include the (11) Private school when requiring separate building Section 5. That Section VII of said ordinance be amended to include the following use: )& ... · ~ ·-(12"; Greenhouses, ·· AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
