ORDINANCE NO. 713
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE No, 661 BY
MAKING CERTAIN CHANGES IN THE ORIGINAL DISTRICTS DESCRIBED
. IN SAID ORDINANCE AS DISTRICTS C, F, G, H, J AND L.
WHEREAS, B.ec.t.tiJ\l.ll ny of Ol'dinanc e No. 661, pro-
vides for amending and changing the boundaries of the various
districts described and set forth in said Ordinance, and,
whereas, in compliance with provisions of said Section ~5, of
said Ordinance, the City Commission submitted to the Zoning
Commission for its recommendation and report the proposed
changes to be made to Districts c, F1 G~ H, J and L; and,
WHEREAS, said Zoning Commission after duly con-
sidering said proposed changes of said districts made its report
and recommendation to the City Commission favoring the proposed
changes in said Districts c, F, G, H1 J and L; and
WHEREAS, thereafter the City Commission caused
to be published in detail the proposed changes in said Districts
heretofore described and in said notice so published, the public
was notified that a public bearing would be held by the City
Commission for\the purpose of considering the passage of an
amendment to said Ordinance No. 661, and making certain changes
in Districts ::; C, F~ G .. H, J and L; and,
WHEREAS, such notice was duly published on
April 29th# May 6th# May l~th, 1945, in the Lubbock Morning
Avalanche, a newspaper of general circulation, published in
the City of Lubbock, Texas, giving notice to the public that
the City Commission would meet on May 14th, 1945·, at two o'clock
P. M. in the City Hall in Lubbock, Texas, for the purpose of
hearing protest, if any, against such proposed changes and pro-
posed amendment to said Ordinance 661, and after said notice
·J was published as aforesaid, the City Conunission did on May 14th,
1945, meet at the City Hall in Lubbock, Texas, for the purpose
of considering protests, if any, to said proposed changes in
said Districts, and the amendment, and, whereas, no one appeared
at said meeting to protest against such proposed changes and
amendment.
NO'l.f, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY
COM MISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS:
SECTION 1: All of Lots 6 and 7, in Block 1, of
the Overton Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas,
is hereby taken out of District G and placed in District H,
and that from and after the passage and effective date of this
ordinance, all of said p~perty described in this Section l,
is and shall be a part of District H.
SECTION 2: All of Block 5, and Lots 8, 9, 10
and 11 in Block 3, all in the G. A. Rush Addition to the City
of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, is hereby taken out of
District F and placed in District H, and that from and after the
passage and effective date of this ordinance, all of said
property described in this Section is and shall be a part of
District H.
to wit:
SECTION 3: The following described property,
A part of Survey 2, in Block 0, Sertificate 0/516
T.W.N.G. Railway Co. and described by metes and
bounds as follows: .
BEGINNING at a point which is 2069.5 feet North
~ .. . ".. of the Southeast comer of said
Survey 2; Block 0, for the Northeast corner of
this tract;
THENCE West 3Q5 feet;
THENCE South 422 feet;
THENCE East 3Q5 feet;
THENCE North 422 feet to the place of beginning,
and being that portion of land marked "School Groundsu on the
map of the G. A. Rush Addition to the Town of Lubbock, Lubbock

County~ Texas~ as shown on page 116, Vol. 26, of the Deed Records
of Lubbock County, Texas, less a 15 foot easement to the City ot
Lubbock, off of the North side of the land marked 11 School Grounds"
on said map of the G. A. Rush Addition; is hereby taken out of
District C and placed in District H, and that from and after the
passage arld ~e~fective date of this ordinance, all of the property
described in this Section is and shall be a part of District H;
wit:
SECTION 4; The following described property~ to
BEGINNING at the corner of 24th Street and Avenue G;
THENCE South along the East line of Avenue G to its
intersection with the Fort Worth and Denver right-of-
way;
THENDE Southwesterly along said right-of-way to the
alley between Avenue G and Avenue H;
THE NCE South along said alley to the North line of
27th Street;
THENCE East along the North line of 27th Street to the
Southeast corner of Block 1, Morningside Addition;
THENCE North to the intersection of ·the Fbrt Worth and
Denver main line track;
THENCE Nor~bwesterly along said tract to the South
line of 24th Street;
THENCE ~est along the South line of 24th Street to the
place of beginning,
is hereby taken out of District J and placed in District L, and
that from and after the passage and effective date of this Ordi-
nance all the property described in this Section shall be and is
a part of District L; and IT IS SO ORDERED.

of Kay A. D. 1945.
