J 02-:2-to -l.9 Lf-.;L ORDINANCE NO . ill 0:3-12-{<94--~ AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE USE OF INciULATING MATWRIALS AND PROVIDING THAT SUCH INSULATION MUST BE FINISHED SO AS TO BE NONCO MBUSTIBLE IN I'I'S. FINISHED STATE AND PROVIDING THAT ALL CONTAHlERS IN WHICH INSULATION MA'l1ERIALS ARE PACKED SHALL BE PROPERLY BRANDED. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS: SECTION 1: The use of combustible insulating materials in the construction and/or repair of any building in the City of Lubbock, Texas, is hereby prohibited. SECTION 2: From and after the passage of this Ordinance and its effective date all insulation materials ase~ in the construction of any building and/or the repair of any building in the City of Lubbock must be made and fabricated from materials that are noncombustible in their finished state. SECTION 3: All insulation materials used in the construction and/or repair of any building in the City of Lubbock must have the name and brand printed on the container or be tagged with a tag containing the name and brand of said insulation 'materials. SECTION 4: All insulating materials used in the construction and/or repair of any building in the City of Lubbock must be of materials that are noncorrosive and non- conducting and when such is placed in any hollow space in any building in the City of Lubbock, the same shall be so placed as not to create a strain upon the electric cables, electric cable supports, terminal connections and conductors. dECTION 5: The mixing of noncombustible in- sulation with combustible insulation for the purpose of being used in the construction and/or repair of any building in the City of Lubbock is hereby prohibited. ! ;, / SECTION 6: All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 7: Any personJ firm, association or corporation who violates any of the provi s ions of this Ordinance upon trial and conviction shall be fined in any sum not to exceed #100.00 and IT IS SO ORDERED. of __ J:'~e ..... b~·- of March PASSED AND APPROVED first reading this ~ t day 1942.
