NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. That the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company is authorized to place into effect as of June 11th, 1940, the following schedule of rates and charges for telephone service within its Lubbock exchange: Class of Service Business Service: One party, Semi-public, messages over guarantee Residence Service; One party Two party Fo~r party Private Branch Exchange Service, Commercial: Trunks, each Monthly Rate $6.00 .04 2.75 2.25 2.00 9.00 Rates for all other services, including business and residence extensions, semi-public service, private branch exchange switch- boards, rural service and service stations, shall remain unchanged. Also, upon the going into effect of the foregoing schedule of rates, the additional monthly charge of 15¢ now being made for hand sets shall be discontinued. SECTION 2. That the City Commission reserves to itself all of its lawful rights to inquire into and to regulate telephonu rates at any and all times, and nothing in this Ordinance sustained shall be construed as in any manner, nor or hereafter, limiting or modifying the right and power of the City Commission under the charter of the City and under the law to regulate the rates charged by the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for telephone service within the City of Lubbock, Texas.
