HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 606-1939 - Closing The Alley In Block 5 - 01/26/1939_....., -___/ • -ol-2LP-t939 t O I ORDINANCE NO. lP 'P OZ-1?>-\939 AN ORDINANCE CLOSING THE ALLEY IN BLOCK 5, DELMAR ADD-ITION TO THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS: WHEREAS, the Lubbock Independent School District of the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, has purchased all of Block Five (5) of the Delmar Addition, an addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, for the purpose of constructing and erecting thereon a Public School building; and WHEREAS, the whole of said Block is vacant property; and WHEREAS, it is to the best interest of the General Public that a Public School be built on said Block 5, Delmar Addition, where a school may be conducted for the education of the general Public •s children. THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS, that by virtue of the authority vested in the City Commission under Sec. 18, of Art. 1175, Revised Civil Statutes of the State of Texas, and Sec. 20 of Art. 2 of the Charter for the City of Lubbock, the 15 foot alley running east and west across Block 5 in the Delmar Addition, an Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock • County, Texas, is hereby closed, and it is so ordered.
