AN ORDINANC~ DEFINING FOOD ESTABLISHMENTS, PROHIBITING
ANY SLEEPING QUARTI:.RS TO Bh MAINTAINED OR KEPT IN A ROOM WHERE FOOD
IS STORED, PROHI BITING THE HANGING OF CLOTHING IN A ROOM USED AS A
PLACE TO STORE FOOD, PROHIBITING THE USE OF A ROOM WHERE A TOILET
IS LOCATED AS A PLACE FOR STORING FOOD.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
LUBBOCK, TEXAS:
SEC. I.
The term "Food Establishment" shall be taken to mean and
include Restaurants, Cafeterias, Cafes, Hotel dining rooms ani Drug
stores where food is prepared and served for human consumption.
SEC. II.
It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to
have and keep any sleeping or living quarters in a room in any~ood
Establishment 11 , as that term is defined in Section One hereof, where
food is stored, prepared and served to the general public for human
liung or
consumption, and no wearing apparel shall b~stored in such room.
SEC. III.
No toilet shall be located in anz room in any "Food Estab-
lishment", as that term is hereinbefore defined, where food is kept,
stored and handled, and no tiolet room shall be located so that it
shall open directly into any such room unless such toilet room shall
have proper self-closing devices.
SEC. IV.
Any person who violates any of the provisions of this
ordinance shall, upon conviction thereof, be fined in any sum not. to
exceed $100.00.
