BE IT O~AINED BY .THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS: SECTION l: Tbat trom and after Januarr 1, 1933, the provisions of Electrical Ordinance No. 285 ot the City of Lubbock and all amendments thereto, as well as the code of the National Board of Fire Underwriters, will be en- forced, including the amendments contained in this ordi• nance. ) SECTION 2f From and after said date all electri- cians engaging in the business of installing any electric work in the City of Lubbock will be required to tile a surety bond in the sumpf. $11 000.00 payable to the City of Lubbock at Lubbock, Texas, for the faithful performance of their duties as more fully prescribed by Electrical Or- dinance No. 285. SECTION 3~ The Oit.y Electrical Inspector is especially charged to enforce Sections 4•5•8 and 30 of Electrical Ordinance No. 285, as well as all other sec- tions of said ordinance and code ot the National Board ~ ot Fire Underwriters. SECTION 4: On all conduct systems, meter trim cabinets mnat be installed as required by the code ot the National Board of Fire Underwriters. Knob end tube sys- tems must hsve similar equipment where wire is e~posed less than 7 feet 6 inches fpom floor, or where plaeed 1n damp or hazardous ~ocat1on. SECTION 5~ The following fees will be eharged by the 01 ty and must be paid tor perm1 t and inspection before permit is issued or work is done: New Installations -1 to 5 outlets -$1.00 Next 100 outlets -10~ each All over 100 outlets -5¢ each Fixtures -- - - -1 to 5 fixtures -$1.00 All over 5 fixtures -5¢ each Fans - - - - - - -1 to 10 fans -50~ All over 10 tans -s¢ each Gasoline Pumps - -New installations or changing pumps -l to 5 -$1.00 All over 5 -10¢ each Alterations or adaitiona on old buildings or remod- eling work --- -- - For each Electric 25¢ for ls t outlet 15~ each for each additional outlet permitted on old circuit without causing overload on circuit. If additional circuit is re- quired to accommodate outlets, inspection fee same as for new work will be charged. INTERPRETATION OF NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODEr• Circuit Load -Public and Business Buildings -all outlets for cur• rent consuming attachments shall be wired for not less than three amperes each. S~bw window lighting shall be wired for not less than li amperes tor each linear foot as measured along the base line or tbe show window. Residence and orrtce Building ceiling and bracket out- lets shall be wired tor not less than lt amperes each. Con- venient outlet plugs shall be wired for not less than three amperes each. Fifteen amperes or twelve openings shall constitute full circuit load under any condition. ~3:./JT SECTION 6~ All other electrical ordinances and all provisions of the code ot the National Board of Fire Underwriters shall remain in rull force except as may be changed by this ordinance. SECTION 7: The tact that the State Fire Insur- ance Commissioner is complaining of some of the electr1• cal equipment installed in the City of LUbbock as being dangerous on account of fire, and the fact that public satetJ requires the improvement in installation and in• ~. • . • crease in safety appliances, creates a fire hazard mak- ing it necessary tbst th1s ordinance should take effect from end after its passage as an emergency measure, and it is so ordered.
