BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COlmiSSION OF LUBBOCK,
TEXAS .
SECT I 01-T OlTE .
From and after the date this Ordinance takes effect,
there shall be collected in aivance by the City Tax -Collector a
license fee of Five ($5.00) Dollars per day from each and
every person, firm or corporation engaged in the business of
operating a bowling alley, or a five or ten pin alley in the
City of Lubbock.
SECT IOU TWO .
No person, firm, corporation, agent or servant
shall engage in conducting such business, or assist in operat-
ing same, until and unless a license fee of Five ($5 .00)
·Dollars per day is paid to the City Tax Collector in advance
for the operation of such business each and every day operated
or to be operated, and a written receipt issued by the City
Tax Collector for each such day operated or to be operated.
SECTION THREE.
Any pers on, firra or corporation y;r ho desire s to enter
into or engage in the business of conducting or operating a
bowling alley, or a five pin or a ten pin alley, in the City
of Lubbock, must first pay to the City Tax Collector of Lubbock,
Texas, in advance, a fee of Five ($5.00) Dollars per day for
each and every day such business is operated in the City of
Lubbock, and obtain a written receipt therefor from the Tax
Collector.
SECTIOl:f FOUR.
Any person. firm, corporation, agent or servant
who shall engage in such business, or assist in operating
such business of bowling alley, or five or ten pin alley,
inthe City of Lubbock, without having first paid such license
fee of Five ($5 .00) Dollars per day in advance and received
a written receipt therefor from the City Tax Collector, sm.ll
be guilty of a misdemeanor, and for each day's violation shall
be fined in any sum not to exceed Twenty {~20.00) Dollars
per day.
SECTION FIVE.
Each day's violation shall constitute a separate
offense, whether such business be operated in day time or night
time, or only a part of such day or night.
SECTIOJ:r SIX.
Should any clause, sentence or provision of this
Ordinance be held illegal or unconstitutional, such finding
shall not invalidate the remainder of this Ordinance.
Passed and approved at first reading by
unanimous vote of the City Commission. this '-l.~y of
