HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 479-1931 - Designating College Ave Through The Town Of Lubbock - 01/01/19310' -0 1-lq31 ORDINANCE NO. 479 0 I -08-\q31 AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING COLLEGE AVENUE THROUGH THE TOWN OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS, FROM BROADWAY ON THE SOUTH TO THE NORTH CITY LIMITS ON THE NORTH NOW USED AS STATE HIGHWAY NO. 7 AS A PUBLIC HIGHWAY AND MAIN THOROUGHFARE; REQUIRING THAT NO SIGNS OR SIGNALS GIVING PREFERENCE TO ANY OTHER LOCAL PASSING TRAFFIC AND NO ENCROACHMENTS BE ERECTED ON THE RIGHT•OF-WAY IN THE FUTURE; THAT THE PASSAGE OF THIS ORDINANCE IS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE REGULATIONS OF THE U.S. BUREAU OF PUBLIC ROADS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS: -Section 1: That College Avenue through the town of Lubbock, Texas, from Broadway on the South to the North City Limits on the North, now used as State Highway No. 7, be and the same is hereby recognized and officially designated as a public highway and main thoroughfare through said city. Section 2: That no signs or signals giving preference to any other local passing traffic will be erected and that no encroachments on the right-of-way will be permitted in the future. Section 3: That this Ordinance is passed in accordance with the request of the United States Government requiring such disgnation in keeping with the regulations of the U.S. Bureau of Public Roads.
