HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 459-1929 - Amend Paragraph D Of Sec 5 Of Ordinance 454 - 10/24/1929... \ \ ORDINANCE NO. /f-S°f AMENDMENT OF PARAGRAPH D OF SECTION 5 OF PRIVY ORDINANCE NO. 454 :MAKING THE RENTALS PAYABLE MONTHLY IN AD- VANCE INSTEAD OF QUARTERLY IN ADVANCE, AND AMENDING SECTION 6 OF SAID ORDINANCE REQUIRING PERMITS TO BE ISSUED MONTHLY INSTEAD OF QUARTERLY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1: That paragraph D of Section 5 of Privy Ordinance No. 454 of the City of Lubbock, Texas be amendw ed by ma.king the rentals payable monthly in advance instead of quarterly in advance and so that paragraph D of Section 5 of said ordinance shall hereafter read as follows, Section 5 Paragraph (d)a Over the pit shall be placed a metal or concrete slab and a fly-tight metal riser fitted with a suitable wooden seat and covero The pit shall be ventilated by a metal pipe not less than 3 inches in diameter, extending from the pit to 8 inches above the roof of the building and screened at the top and bottom with 16 mesh screen wire. Approved metal or concrete slabs and risers with standard toilet seats shall be ~urnished to the property owners and citizens of the City of Lubbock, Texas, free of coat, except there shall be charged by said City, and paid by the property owner or tenant for the installation and use thereof, a rental of Twelve '11.2.00) Dollars per year per single unit, payable monthly in advance, at the Office of the City Secretaryo The failure to pay such rental and when the same shall beeome due, shall authorize the Ch~ef of Police, the local health and sanitary officer, or any persons under the direction of such officers, or either of them, to seal said privy, on which default in the payment of rental has .,.. . , . been made, and the same shall not thereafter be used until all arrears in rentals have been fully paid. It is further provided that the title to said sanitary privies and all materials used in connection therewith shall at all times remain vested in the City of Lubbock, Texas, and the Chief of Police, Health or Sanitary Officers of said City shall at all times have access to said sanitary privies and to and over the property on which same may be located, for any and all purposes necessary for the maintenance and operation of the same, or in the removal of the same therefrom. SECTION 2: That Section 6 of said Privy Ordinance No. 454 of the City of Lubbock. Texas, be amended by requiring permits to be taken out monthly instead of quarterly and so that said Section 6 shall hereafter read as follows: Section 6: Permits shall be applied for and issued monthly on the 1st day of each month hereaf•tero And where a new privy is erected, a permit shall be issued for the remainder of the month, and the fees of such new privy shall be in proportion to the time the month is yet to run bears to the entire a.mount of the month. Such permits so issued shall be in words and figures substantially as followst Acct.
