AND 6 O'CLOCK P.M.; MAKING IT UNLAW- FUL TO PARK IN ANY PRIVATE OR PUBLIC DRIVEWAY I~ THE CITY, AND MAKING IT UNLAWFUL TO PARK ANY VEHICLE ON A PAVED STREET IN THE CITY BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 1 0 1 - CLOCK A.M. AND 5 O'CLOCK R.M.; FIXING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF ANY PART OF THIS ORDINANCE; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HERE- WITH; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS. SECTION 1. It shall hereafter be unlawful for any person to park any vehicle within the area hereinafter defined, between the hours of 8 o'clock A.M. and 6 0 1 clock P.M. for a longer period of time than two consecutive hours. SECTION 2. Portions of streets and avenues restricted to the regu- lations mentioned in Section 1 hereof except the public square are as follows: Thirteenth street between Avenue Hand a 1/2 way point between Avenues J & K. Broadway street between Avenues G and L. Main street between Avenues G and K. Texas Avenue between Main and Thirteenth street, Avenue J between Main and Thirteenth street. Avenue K between Main and Thirteenth street. Avenue G between Main and Broadway. SECTION 3. It shall hereafter be unlawful for any person to park any vehicle in any public or private driveway within the city of Lubbock. SECTION 4. It shall hereafter be unlawfui for any person to park any vehicle on any paved street in the city of Lubbock between the hours of 1 o 1 clock A.M. and 5 o'clock ~.M. SECTION 5. Any person violating any provision of this ordinance shall, upon conviction, be fined in any amount not exceeding $100.00. SECTION 6. All o~dinances and parts of ordinances ~in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 7. The fact that it is the practice of persons to park motor vehicles within the ar~a defined in Section 2 hereof and to allow same to remain so parked for indefinite lengths of time, thereby depriving others of the right to park within the shopping district of this city, creats an emergency and public necessity that the rule of the charter requiring ordinances to be read at two meetings before passage be sus- pend-ed,and said rule is hereby suspended and this ordinance may be pas- seq at the meetilnlg of its introduction and shall~ake ffect and be in force from and after its due publication. p~ ~ ~ r/fr7J-?)
