AN OBDINANCE PRES"CRIBING FORM OF SIDEWALK CONTRACTORSt EOND; REQUIRING SAME TO BE GIVEN BEFORE WORK IS DONE; AND FIXING PENALTY FOR VIOLATION. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COIDflSSION OF THEJ CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXASt (1) That hereafter all persona, parties or corporations desiring or intending to con)ruct sidewalks in the town of Lubbock, Texas, shall, befo:re doing such work or entering into contract therefor, make and file with the City of Lubbock, Texas, subject to its approval, a contractors• bond, substantially as followsa ( SIDEWALK CONTRACTORS' BOND ) The contractor --------------' Principal, and , ------------------- Surety, are held and firmly bound unto the City of Lub- bock, Te.xaa, and to all persons who may be injured, in the sum of Two Thousand & Na/100 ('2,000.00) Dollars, payable at Lubbock, Texas, conditioned that the aforesaid contractor will faithfully abide by and comply with all the rules, regulations and ordinances of the City of Lub- bock pertaining to the construction and maintenance of sidewalks in the town of Lubbock, Texas, and that all said work shall be first class and according to the spec- ifications of the City of Lubbock far such cases, and be maintained by the contractor against all damages caused by defective material or workmanship; and further that the contractor will indemnify all persons whose _person or property may be damaged by violation of this bond. ( There shall be no liability on this bond for any violation thereof not discovered and reported in writing to the Surety or Sureties within two years af- ter the work is done. This bond may be canceled by either party hereto at any time by giving the other party and the City thirty days advance written notice of such can- cellation; but such cancellation shall not release any liabilities already accrued in accordance with the fore- going provisions.
