HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 395-1927 - Providing Certain Building Specifications - 10/13/1927ORDINANCE NO• _a ~S' AN ORDINANCE PIDVIDING CERTAIN BUILDING SPECIFICATIONS WITH REFERENCE TO FURNACES, BOILERS• WATER HEATERS, AND Al?:PLIANCES US- ING GAS• COAL, OR OTHillR FUELS; AND PRESCRIBING REGULATIONS FOR FLUES AND VENTS; PROVIDING A PENALTY; AND DECLARING AN EDQJRGENCY. . . . BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1: That wneb gas is the fuel used in heating furnaces or boilers, the flue shall be of the same size and oonatruotion as required for stoves and ~-s.nges using oth&r fuel. SECTION 2: Vent flues, where required for the venting of domestic gas bu.rning appliances, may be three inoh galvanized metal :flu es, such flu ea shall be ventilated where they pass through the ceiling. SECTION 3: All hot water heaters shall be vented. SECTION 4: Where hot water heatei-s a.re placed in closets 1 t will be neceasary to put a local vent ten inches in diameter in the ceil~ ing of the closet in addition to the three inch galvamized metal flue.
