HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 374-1927 - Amending Section 1 Of Ordinance 366. - 05/12/1927·,···~ , ....... • ORDINANCE NO -~7.,( Al.!ENDMEHT OF ~ILDING OllDINJ\Jl!CE An ordinance amending Section One, of Building Ordinance No. 366, so aa to eliminate from the fire limits the .West one-half of block 39, and all of Lots l to 4 inclusive in Block 55, all in the Original Town of Lubbock, in Lubbock county, Texas, and declaring an emergency. Be it ordained by the City Commission of the City of Lubbock, Texas: That Section 1, of said Building Ordinance No. 366, of the City of Lubbock, Texas, passed March 24th, 1927, be, and the same is hereby amended so that section 1, shall hereafter read as follows; · Section l. Fire Limits: The provisions of this Ordinance shall apply to and be co-extensive with the territory within boundaries now, or hereafter established, as the fire limits of this city, except such as are made with reference to the whole of the city by omission to make directly applicable to such fire limits, which limits are hereby declared to include the following territory: Blocks 7, 23, 24, E. 1/2 39, 40, lots 5 to 20 inclusive in Block 55, 56, 5?, 71, 72, 73, 74, 8?, 8 8 , 89, 90, 91, 100, 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106, .107, 116, 117, 118, 119, 120, 121, 122, 130-131, 132, 133, 134, 135, 136, 137, 138, 139, 148, 149, 150; 151, 152, 155, 165, 166, and 167, all in the original plat· of the City of Lubbock. The fact that it is desirous to obtain removal of some lumber yards in the heart of the business district of the city where there is a great fire hazard. That part of the above described property eliminated from the fire zone for the purpose of reducing the fire harzard and preventing the origin and sp~ead of fires as far as possible, creates an emergency and public necessity that this ordinance be passed at the meeting when int~oduced, and that all rules and ordinances providing for more than one reading, be, and they are hereby suspended, and this ordi- nance shall be effective from and after its passage, and it is so ordered. ¥ Thie the/-?aay of May, 192?. fll:1/.~ Mayor Pro Tam ATTE 3~: .,:ff ,«/2z-1<-~ · s e c r e t a r y I ,-
