BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEX.AS:
Section 1. Hereafter no dog shall be permitted to run at large in the
streets and alleys of the City of Lubbock, Texas, until such dog shall
have first been vaccinated for rabies. nor unti l the license tax of One
Dollar on sue h dog shall have been paid to the City of Lubbock., Texas,
for the current year.
Section 2. No dog shell be permitted to run at large in the streets
and alleys oI the City of Ltbbock 9 unless auoh dog haa fastened to his
collar or other harness a dog tax receipt tag issued for such dog for
the current year by the City Tax Collector of the City of Lubbook,Texss.
Section 3. The City Tax Collector for the City of Lubbock, shall not
issue any license or dog tax receipt for ony dog until the owner or
U person in charge of such dog shall have obtained and presented to such
tax collector a certificate from a veterinarian, licensed to practice
veterinary medicine in the State of Texas, that such dog has been vacci-
nated for rabies within a period of t wo months·, prior to the date s uch dog
license ia applied for. or such dog tax ia paid.
Section 4. No bi toh whioh ia 1'proud 11 shall be allowed to run at large
upon the streets or alleys of the City of Lubbock, Texas.
Section 5. All dogs found upon the streets or in the alleys of the City
of Lubbock, and 1..not under leash, in violation of the fore g oing p-ovisi ons
of this ordinance, shall be taken by the Dog Catcher and placed in the
City Pound. Dogs placed in the City Pound sha.l.l be kept for a period of
three days. and at the end of that time they shall be killed, unless

redeemed by the owner or other person by the payment of a pound fee of
~l.00, and ~.lo per day for each day such dog shall have remained in said
pound. The person or persons in charge of suoh pound shall not allow any
dog in the pound to be redeemed until the owner or other person applying
for the redemption of such dog, shall have presented satisfactory proof
that such dog has been vaccinated for rabies within a period of twelve
months prior to the time application for the release of suoh dog from
the pound is made, nor until the City license tax shall have been paid
on such dog for the current year.
Section 6. The Mayor· and City Commission ahal:l appoint some comq:ietent
person to act as City Do g Catoher, and as oom p.ensati~n for his services,
he shall receive all pound fees, and for dogs hot claimed and whioh are
killed, he shall receive a fee of One Dollar for each dog, to be paid
by the City.
Section 7. All ordinances or parts of ordimnoes in confliot herewith are
hereby repeal ed.
