AN ORDINANCE levying a tax upon all property subject to
taxation within the City of Lubbock, Texas, jor the support of
the City for the year 1926 apportioni~g said levy among the
various funds and items for which revenue must be raised, levy-
ing an occupation tax on all occupations taxable, and fixing
the time within which said taxes and poll taxes be paid, asses-
sing penalties and interest for non-payment of such ~axes
within the time set and declaring an emergency account of
nearness of the end of the year.
BE IT O~NED BY THE CITY CO~SSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK,
T~XAS.
SECTION 1. There shall be levied and assessed upon all
property subject to taxation within the City of Lubbock, Texas,
for the year 1926, the sum of Fifteen Dollars on.each One
Thousand Dollar valuation thereof, and -same shall be applied
to the various funds in the following manner:

SECTION a. All aivalorem taxes shall be paid before the
first day of February 1927. and taxes not ~aid by that date
shall have to .said tax added the sum of 10~ penalty and bear
interest· from said date at six per cent. And thereafter such
fees and costs shall be added as provided for state and coWlty
taxes.
SECTION 3. There is levied upon all occupations taxable
one-half the sum charged by the State of Texas for pursuing
such occuJE. tion.
SECTION*· The fact the year is nearing its end, requires
the rule of the Cbarter to have an ordinance read at two meet-
ings prior to Jassage be suspended and this Ordinance passed
at the mee~ing of its introduction and effective from the time
of its approval and provided by law and the provisions of the
Charter.
