BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF 'lHE CITY OF LUBBOCK:, TEXAS: SECTION 1: It shall hereafter be unlawful for any person driving or operating any automobile, motorcycle, motor truck or other motor valicle to a tn the 'City of Lubbock, to cross any street at a street intersection, where there is a "Stop" sign located at or near the street intersection, without bringing such automobile, motorcycly. motortruck or other motor vehicle to a complete stantietill before proceeding across such street. SECTiON 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are expressly repealed. SECTION 3: Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance, shall be deemed guilty of a misdeameanor, and upon conviction be fined in any sum not to exceed TWenty=ftve (•25.00) Dollars. SECTION 4: That fact that it is the practice of persons driving automobiles and other motor vehicles to cross streets at intersections at a high rate of speed, without due regard for the rights of other persons lawfully using such streets, frequently resulting in serious accidents, creates an emergency and public necessity that the rule of the Charter requiring an ordinance to be read at more than one meeting before pass~ge be, and the same is, here~ suspended and that this ordinance be dopted at the meeting of its introduction and it is so ordered; and that this ordinance become effective upon date of its second publication, and it is so or.dered.
