HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 289-1925 - Grant Pecos And N Texas Railway Company Laying Tracks Across Certain Property. - 03/03/1925ORDINANCE NO. 289 AN ORDINANCE GRANTING THE PECOS AND NORTHERN TEXAS RAILWAY COMPANY A CORPORATION ITS LESSEE THE PANBDDLE AND SANTA FB RAILWAY COMPANY AND ITS SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS THE RIGHT AND PRIVILEGE OF LAYING TRACKS UPON AND ACROSS CERTAIN CITY PROPERTY AND STREETS AND ALLEYS AND MAINTAINING THE SAME UNDER CERTAIN SAFEGUARDS: Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Lubbock, Texas: Section 1: That the Pecos and Northern Texas Railway Company, a corporation, and its lessee, the Panhandle and Santa Fe Railway Company, and its successors and assigns, be and it is hereby given the right, power and privilege of locating, building erecting, constructing, and properly maintaining an industrial track, with the necessary turnouts, switchstands, and other necessary appliances connected therewith across and upon the streets and alleys within the corporate limits of the City of Lubbock, Texas, designated as follows: Under and across the alley running north and south in Block No. 57, and upon and across Eighth Street between Avenues G and H, and upon and across the alley running north and south in Block No. 73, and upon and across Ninth Street between Avenues G and H, and upon and across the alley running north and south in Block No. 89 to the North Line of Tenth Street, all in the Original Town of Lubbock, In Lubbock County, Texas. Provided, track shall at all times all places be so to be crossed by ordinary vehicles. No injury to utilities in Streets or alleys by reason there of shall be permitted. Section 2. This Ordinance shall be in force from and after its passage and approved as provided by law. Passed first Reading this the 3rd day of March 1925. Passed final reading this the day of l 1925.
