An Ordinance to amend section No. 1 1 of Ordinance
No. 204, ~f City of Lubbock, and as amended by Ordin-
ance No. y"}t ·, designating fire limits of the City of
Lubbock, an _ other purposes so as to include other proper-
ty withia the fire limits of said City, repealing all Ordin-
ances and parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith, and de-
claring emergency, account of danger of fire.
Be it ordained by the City Commission of the City of
Lubbock, Texas:
Section 1. Section one of said Ordinances shall here-
after read:· Fire Limits. The provisions of this Ordinance
shall apply to and be co-extensive with the territory with
the boundaries now, or hereafter established, as the fire 11m"
its of this City, except such as are made with reference to
the whole of the City by omission to make directly applicable
to such fire ltmits, which fire limits are hereby declared to
inclued the following territory: blocks 7, 23, 24, 39, 40, 55,
56, 57, 7,1, 72, 73, 74, 87, 88, 991~91, south half block 101,
blocks 102, 103, 104, 105, 106, 107, 117, 118, 119, 120, 121, "'
122, 131, 132, 133, 134, 135, 136, 137, 138, 139, 148, 149, 150,
151 1 and West half of block 166, all in the original plat of
the City of Lubbock, Texas.
Section 2. The fact that puildings of insufficient
and non-fire resisting material mny be erected under the pres-
ent Ordinance, upon such property, increasing fire hazards,
creates an emergency and public necessity that the rule of the
charter requiring Ordinances to be read at two several meetings
be, and the same is, hereby suspended, and this Ordinance be
passed and effective from its first introduction, and it is so
enacted.
Passed by a unanimous vote or the City Commission, and
