Be it ordained by the City Council (Commission) of the
City of Lubbock, Texas.
Section 1. There shall be levied and assessed upon

on the. first d~ of Janua:ty 1922. and not exempt by the g~neral laws of this state, ~etween the ~es of 21 years and
60 years, shall pay a poll tax of One dollar each.
Section 3. All ad valorem taxes shall be paid before
the Firat day of February 1923 and taxes not paid by_ ~hat
date shall have to said tax adAed the sum of 10% penlily,
and bear interest from said date at six per cent. And
thereafter such fees and costs shall be added as provided
for state and county taxes.
Section 4. There is alevied upon all occupations taxable,
one-half the sum charged by the state of Texas for pursuiDg
such occupation. .
Section 5. The fact the year is nearing its end1 requires
the rule of the charter to have an ordinance read at two
meetings prior to passage be suspended. an9· this ordinance

Section 2. All persons residing within the City of Lubbock, Texas on
the first d•y of Januar.v. 1922t and not exempt by the general laws o~
this State, between the ages o~ 21 years and 60 years. shall pay a poll
tax of One Dollar.
