"AN ORDIIMNCE by the City Com:aission of th City of Lubbock, Texas,.
authorizing the issuance of bonds for the principal scam of ONE HUNDRED
THOUSAND DOLLARS 0 100#000.00) for the purpose of rebuilding* extending
and improving the Sanitary Seger System; providing for the levy, assess-
ment and collection of a sufficient tax on the One hundred Dollars*
valuation of all taxable property within the limits of said City to pay
the interest and create a sinking fund for the redemption thereof;
prescribing the form of bond and interest -coupons; and declaring an
emergency."
WHEREAS, at an election held in the City of Lubbock, Texas' on the 18th
day of duly, 1922* a majority of the qualified voters, who are property
taxpayers of the City of Lubbock, voting at said election, sustained the
proposition to issue the bonds hereinafter described for the principal
sum of ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS ($100,000,00) by a vote of 2980 in
favor of the issuance of such bonds, and 39 against the issuance of
such bondst

Section 1, That the bonds of said +city,, to be called "CITY OF LUBBOCK
SANITARY SEWER SYSTEK BONDS Series of 19220 be issued under and by
virtue of the Constitution and Laws of the State of Texas' including
the Charter of the City of Lubbock, for the purpose of rebuilding,
extending and improving the Sanitary Sewer System of said City, in the
principal sum of ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1000000.00).

Section 4.' Th,*t the shall bear interest at the rate of FIVE AND ONE-
HALF PER CENT ( 5 1/2;1 per annum# payable semi-annually on the FIR: T DAY fF
FEBRUARY AND TfiE FIRST DAY OF AUGUST, in a-ch year,
Section 5. That the principal and interest of said series of bonds
shall be payable in lawful money of the united States of America on pre-
sentrztion and surrender of bond or proper coupon at -the HANOVER 2RATIONA.L

Section 6o That each of said bonds shall be signed by the Mayer,
countersigned by the GZy Secretary# and registered by the City Treasurer,
and the corporate sea]. of the "City of Lubbock" shall be impressed upon
each of them.
Section 7. That the facsimile signatures of the Mayor and City Secre-
tary be lithographed on the interest coupons attached to said bonds, and
shall have the same effect as if such coupons had been signed '�y them.

IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED AND RECITED that the issuance of this bond,
and the series of which it is a pert, is duly authorized by law and by
a vote of the qualified property tax -paying voters -of the vity of
Lubbock,. Texas, voting at an election held for that purpose within said
City on the 18th day of Tulyp 1922; that all aetep conditions and things
required to be done precedent to and in the issuance of this series of bonds,
and of this bond, h• ve been prop-rly done and performed -,nd have happened
in regular and due time,, form and manner as required by law; th•t
sufficient and proper provision for the levy ,nd collection of taxes has

CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS,, That to pay the interest nn said bonds and
cre-ite a sinking; fund sufficient to redeem them at maturity a tax

of the improvement authorized by the bonds herein described, and the
fact that such improvement is necessary and will be to the best interests
and gener 1 welfare of the said City, creates an emergency and an
imper- ive ublic necessity that the rule of the City Charter requiring
