OIM INANCE NO. 200.
An Ordinance fixing the ad valorem tax rate on all taxable
property within the City of Lubbock, Texas, for the Year 1921,
apportioning such rate among the v-�rioue purposes for which
said levy is madem recg iring same to be shown on the tax rolls
in like manner as is required by the general laws of the State:
fixing the time by which all taxes for the year 1921 shall be
paid, providing penalties if not paid bef^re the time fixed
making slid tax the penalties a lien upon the property assessed;
also fixings the occupation tax upon all occupations tatabsbe,
and a poll tax upon persons liable to such by the general laws
of the State and declaring an emergency.
BE IT ORDAINED BY TFii CITY COUNCIL OF THE VI TY OF LUBPOCK, TEXAS#
Section 1. Where is hereby assessed ind levied upon all property
within the 1,ity of Lubbock, Texas, subject to taxation, the sum
of 01.25 for each one hundred dollars& or proportlena.te, part,
thereof, of the fair value of such property, same to be appor-
tioned as follovrss

Section 2f The Uity Secretary shall so enter same on the rolls as
near as may be in conformity with the Requirements of the General
laws of this State.
Section 3, All Taxes assessed upon an ad valorem basis shaall be
due and payable before the let day of February 1922, :-nd all taxes
Oct paid before such date shall be subject to a penalty of 10% on
such amount due, with interest from such d-1.te at 6% per annum,
and all taxes and penalties shall be s lien.upon the property assess
sed, -s well as a personal liability of the owner.
Section 4. All occupations subject to a tax shall be taxed at one-
half the amount fixed and pay=able to th a State; a lboll tax of $1&00
is laid upon each person subject to payment of a poll Tax under the
general laws of the States

necessary to complete the rolls cre-.tes an emergency and necessity
that the rule requiring an Ordinance to be read at two Several
meetings be suspended and tris Ordinance be passed at the meeting
of its introductions, and it is so o-rdered.
