BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS:
Section 1. That no person shall connect with the water or'sewer system of
City until he has applied to the department of the City having charge of
the service with which he desires to connect and secured a permit there-
from, which application and permit shall be in writing, and no connection
shall be made at any other place or in any other manner than that designated
and approved by the City; the application and duplicate of the permit shall
remain on file with the City, and be on forms prescribed by the City, the
necessary fee must accompany the application.
Section 2. The fee for each permit shall be
For connection to water system on 2 inch main or under $5.0o
For connection to water main of over 2 inches 15.00
For connection to sewer 2.50
On connections with the water systme the City furnishes the tans and pipes
from the main to the meter line, pipes to be three -fourth inch, and taps
and pipes remain the property of the City, provided, the City shall not be re-
-uired to furnish pipe or tap further than the meter line on the opposite side
of same street.
Section 3. If any person shall be in arrears for rentals until the 15th day
of the month following the month for which rentals may be due, he shall be dis-
connO-cted from the system, or systems, to which he is in arrears, and, before
being re -connected therewith he shall make written application to the depart-
ment having charge of such service, and secure a permit for reconnection,
which application and permit shall be on forms prescribed by the City, shall
pay all arrears, expenses of cutting off and renewing the connection, together
with a permit fee of Two Dollars, at the time of such application; no property
shall be reconnected until this Section shall have been complied with.
Section 4. If any property, having been disconnOcted from the water or sewer
service of the City, shall be again connected therewith not in compliance with
Section 3 of this ordinance it shall be presumed that the person occupying
such premises has renewed the connection, unless the contrary appears, and
in all presecutions it shall devolve upon such person to prove Section 3 was
not violated by him or under his direction or consent.
Section 5. All ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict or partial con-
flict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 5. Any -person found guilty of violating any part of this Ordinance
shall be punished by a fine of not less than Five Dollars not more than Twenty-
five Dollars.
Section 7. The fact that there is no adequate Ordinance forbidding the connec-
tion, or reconnection, with the water main and sewer mains of the City, except
under permit and supervision of the City, nor of enforcing collection of rentals]
creates an emergency that the provision that an Ordinance be read at two several
meetings, before being passed by suspended, and this Ordinance be passed at the
meeting of its introduction, and it is so ordered.
