No One Can Keep Any Hide, Hides, Bones, In City Limits. - 02/12/1918ORDINANCE NO. 167 AN ORDINANCE relating to public health, and providing that no person shall store, or keep, any hide, or hides, or bones within the limits of the City of Lubbock, not to permit on premises controlled by him any substance of offensive odor, or likely to draw flies, or other pests, providing a penalty and declaring an emergency. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LVBBOCK: Section 1. That no person shall keep or store any hide, or hides, bones, or any substance of offensive odor, or that will be likely to draw flies or other pests, within the City of Lubbock, Section 2. That the word "person" as used in this ordinance shall be held to mean the manager of a firm, or incorporated company, or any person working under the jurisdiction of such manager, and the words "store" and "keep' shall be held to include the placing on any premises within this City; the owner, lessee or manager of any property shall be held to have stored and kept the substance mentioned in Section 1, of this Ordinance when same are placed on premises owned or controlled by him. Section S. Any person found guilty of violating any portion of this Ordinance shall be fined in any sum not less than Ten Dollars nor more than one hundred dollars. Section 4. The fact that no adequate law or ordinance exists to prohibit nuisances within the City of Lubbock creates an emergency, and this Ordinance is passed by unanimous vote on the day of its introduction, and it shall be effective at once.
