HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 2023-R0355 - Dedication Deed Lots 6-A And 12-1 Block 1, Maddox Addition - 07/25/2023Resolution No. 2023-R0355 Item No. 5.9 July 25, 2023 RESOLUTION BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT the Mayor of the City of Lubbock is hereby authorized and directed to accept for and on behalf of the City of Lubbock a Dedication Deed in connection with certain real property located in Lots 6-A and 12-A, Block l, a replat of Lots 6 through 12, Block 1, Maddox Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, to be utilized for street, curb, gutter, sidewalk, drainage right-of-way, public utilities and other public purposes, and all related documents. Said Dedication Deed is attached hereto and incorporated in this Resolution as if fully set forth herein and shall be included in the minutes of the Council. Passed by the City Council on July 25, 2023 Resolution No. 2023-R0355 DEDICATORY CERTIFICATE THE STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF LUBBOCK This is to certify that LINDA KAY HOGAN, a single person, and CITY OF LUBBOCK, a Home Rule, Municipal Corporation of the County of Lubbock, State of Texas, are the owners of a tract of land described as follows, to-wit: METES AND BOiJNDS DESCRIl'TION of the plat limits of Lots 6-A and 12-A, Block 1, a replat of Lots 6 through 12, Block 1, Maddox Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, being further described as follows: BEGINNING at point in the East line of a 12.5 foot alley, dedicated by plat recorded in Volume 251, Page 299 of the Deed Records of Lubbock County, Texas (DRLCT), at the Southwest corner of Lot 5, Maddox Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, according to the map, plat and/or dedication deed thereof recorded in Volume 251, Page 299, DRLCT, for the Northwest corner of this tract, from whence a 112" iron rod found in reference bears West a distance of 034 feet; THENCE S. 88°10'32" E., along the Southem boundary of said Lot 5, a distance of 103.48 feet to a 1/2" iron rod found in the West right-of-way line of North Detroit Avenue as described in Volume 3746, Page 235 of the Real Property Records of Lubbock County, Texas, for the Northeast corner of this tract; THENCE S. O1°35'06 " W., along the West right-of-way line of said North Detroit Avenue, at 160.00 feet, pass a"MAG" mail with washer set in reference, continuing for a total distance of 175.00 feet to a point in the North right-of-way line of Colgate Street, dedicated by plat recorded in Volume 251, Page 299, DRLCT, for the Southeast corner of this tract; THENCE N. 88°10'32" W., along the North right-of-way line of said Colgate Street, at 15.00 feet pass an"X" chiseled in concrete set in reference, continuing for a total distance of 104.69 feet to a 3/8" iron rod found in the East line of said 12.5 foot alley, for the Southwest comer of this tract; THENCE N. O1°58'S0" E., along the East line of said 12.5 foot alley, a distance of 175.00 feet to the Point of Beginning; and the undersigned wish to re-plat the above described property, designating streets, alleys, easements (surface and/or underground), and other public properties shown in accordance with the attached map, prepared by Robert A. Christopher, Registered Professional Land Surveyor No. 5167, State of Texas, on the �� day of , 20�, and approved by the Planning Commission of the City of Lubbock on the � day of v� , 20� and desire to have said property re-platted and duly filed for record as required by law, all as shown on the attached map; NOW, THEREFORE, KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS: That for and in consideration of the special benefits to the remainder of the property, the undersigned do hereby DEDICATE all the streets, alleys, easements (surface and/or underground), and other public properties shown and designated upon said map to the PUBLIC for PUBLIC USE FOREVER; and by these presents do impress the name of "LOTS 6-A and 12-A, Block 1, a replat of Lots 6 through 12, Block 1, MADDOX ADDITION to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas" upon said property for the correct reference and description thereto by lots as indicated upon the attached map, and the undersigned do hereby adopt the name hereinabove stated and impress the same upon said land, incorporating said map as a part of this dedication.
