HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 016-1909 - Giving The Pecos And Northern Texas Railway Company To Use Certain Streets ETC. - 06/09/1909ORDINANCE NO. 16 AN ORDINANCE GIVING THE PECOS AND NORTHERN TEXAS RAILWAY COMPANY PERMIS_ SION TO USE CERTAIN STREETS AND ALLEYS IN THE CITY OF LUBBOCK AND AUTHORIZING THEM TO CLOSE CERTAIN STREETS AND ALLEYS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: Article 1. That the Pecos and Northern Texas Railway Company has the consent and permission, and by this Order and Ordinance it is hereby expressly given the assent and permission of the City of Lubbock, to build and construct along and upon the streets and alley within said City of Lubbock as shown within red lines upon the blue print hereto attached and marked exhibit "A" and expressly made a part of this Ordinance. Article 2. Be it further Ordained by the City Council of the City of Lubbock in Lubbock County, Texas, that all of the streets and alleys in the red lines on the blue print hereto attached and marked "Exhibit All and made a part hereof and over and upon which the said Pecos and Northern Texas Rail- w ay Company may construct its road, be and the same are hereby vacated and closed to travel by the public and set apart and dedicated wholly to the use and occupancy of said Railroad for said right-of-way purposes, save and except South First Street, running east and west, and Singer Street, running north and south, as the same are shown on the red lines on said blue print which said South First Street and Singer Street shall be kept open by said Rail- way shall maintain a pass may and shall maintain a crossing of said Streets over its right-of-way and rail in such manner as not to interfere with the use of the same for the travelling public.
