AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING PORTIONS OF A DRAINAGE
EASEMENT LOCATED IN SECTION 18, BLOCK E-2, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS,
WHICH IS MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS
ORDINANCE; DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAPS
OF THE CITY TO REFLECT SAID ABANDONMENT AND CLOSING; PROVIDING A
SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the easements hereinafter described in the body
of this Ordinance are no longer needed for easement purposes and for public use; and it would
be in the public interest to close, vacate and abandon the same for easement purposes and for
public use; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT OR.DAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the easements as hereinafter described shall BE and the same are
hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for easement purposes and for public use, such
easements being more particularly described in the attached Exhibits "A."
SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to mark the
official maps of the City of Lubbock to reflect said abandonment and closing, showing the
number of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage.
SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, phrase, clause or word
of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this
Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary of the City of Lubbock is hereby authorized
and directed to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative
method provided by law.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.

METES AND BOUNDS DESCRIPTION of a 1.053-acre tract of land located in Section 18, Block E-2, Lubbock
County, Texas, being a portion of that Stormwater Drainage and Impoundment easement described under County
Clerk File Number 2016005271, Official Public Records of Lubbock County, Texas, said 1.053-acre tract being further
described as follows:
BEGINNING at a 1/2" iron rod with cap marked "HUGO REED & ASSOC." set for the Southwest corner of this tract
which bears S. 88°1 T04" E. a distance of 2011.29 feet and N. 01 042'56" E. a distance of 693.22 feet from the
Southwest comer of Section 18, Block E-2, Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE N. 3104419" E. a distance of 402.90 feet to a point in the Eastern boundary of said Stormwater Drainage
and Impoundment easement for the Northeast comer of this tract;
THENCE S. 01 043'43" W., along said Eastern boundary, a distance of 396.86 feet to a point;
THENCE S. 31°44'19" W. a distance of 59.24 feet to a 1/2" iron rod with cap marked "HUGO REED & ASSOC." set
for the Southeast corner of this tract;
THENCE N. 58015'41" W. a distance of 198.49 feet to the Point of Beginning.
