HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 2023-R0272 - Parks Application for TXDOT Transportation Alternatives Set Aside ProgramResolution No. 2023-RO272 Item No. 5.34 May 23, 2023 RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF LUBBOCK'S APPLICATION FOR THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION'S 2023-2025 TRANSPORTATION ALTERNATIVES SET - ASIDE (TA) CALL FOR PROJECTS. WHEREAS, the Texas Department of Transportation issued a call for projects in December 2022 for communities to apply for funding assistance through the Transportation Alternatives Set -Aside (TA) Program; and WHEREAS, the TA funds may be used for the development of preliminary engineering (plans, specifications, estimates, and environmental documentation) and construction of pedestrian and/or bicycle infrastructure and other projects to improve safety and mobility for non -motorized travelers and to further mitigate traffic congestion; and WHEREAS, the TA funds require a local match, comprised of cash funds or Transportation Development Credits (TDCs), if eligible; and WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock would be responsible for all non -reimbursable costs and 100% of overruns, if any, for TA funds. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: 1. THAT, the City of Lubbock is an eligible entity to apply for TA funding; and 2. THAT, the City of Lubbock is committed to make the required twenty percent (20%) program match; and 3. THAT, .the City of Lubbock agrees that the funding is fixed at the programmed amount, and no cost increases are allowable; and 4. THAT, the City of Lubbock shall comply with procedures, delivery milestones, and deadlines specified in the TxDOT TA Set -Aside Program Guide 2023-2025; and 5. THAT, the project shall be completed pursuant to the application; and 6. THAT, the City Manager is authorized to execute any documents necessary to effectuate the purposes expressed herein.
