AN ORDINANCE AMENDING BUDGET AMENDMENT #6 TO THE FY 2022-23 BUDGET
FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES RESPECTING THE GRANT FUND TO ACCEPT AND
APPROPRIATE FUNDING FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF STATE HEALTH
SERVICES AND THE TEXAS HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES COMMISSION;
PROVIDING FOR FILING; AND PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE
WHEREAS, on January 10, 2023, the City Council of the City of Lubbock passed on
final reading Budget Amendment 46 (the "Ordinance") to amend the FY2022-23 Budget with
respect to accepting and appropriating certain grant funding from the Texas Department of State
Health Services. A true and correct copy of the Ordinance is attached hereto as Exhibit "A"; and
WHEREAS, Section II of the Ordinance incorrectly identified the grant that is the subject
of the appropriated funds; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to correct the error on the Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, the remaining sections in the Ordinance shall remain unchanged; NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT Section II of the Ordinance is hereby amended to read as follows:
II. Accept and appropriate $75,000 from the Texas Department of State
Health Services for the Health Disparities grant for a total appropriation of
$575,000.
SECTION 2. THAT except as expressly modified or amended herein, all terms and
provisions of the Ordinance shall be and remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3. THAT a copy of the changes made to the City of Lubbock Budget pursuant
to this Ordinance shall be filed with the City Secretary and County Clerk of Lubbock as required
by law.
SECTION 4. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word of
this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this
Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FY 2022-23 BUDGET FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES
RESPEC71NO THE GRANT FUND TO ACCEPT AND APPROPRIATE FUNDING FROM
THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF STATE HEALTH SERVICES AND THE TEXAS HEALTH
AND HUMAN SERVICES COMMISSION; PROVIDING FOR FILING; AND PROVIDING
FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE
WHEREAS, Section 102.010 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas
authorizes the City Council to make changes in the budget for municipal purposes; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the City Budget Ordinance the City Council shall
approve all transfers between funds; and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it advisable to change the FY 2022-23 Budget for
municipal pugxm s and reallocate funds as follows; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the City Council of the City of Lubbock hereby approves changes
to the City of Lubbock Budget FY 2022-23 (Budget Amendment 06) for municipal purposes, as
follows:
I. Amend the Public Health cost center S415 by adding two additional hill -time positions,
Public Health Liaison and Disease Intervention Specialist Supervisor. The new positions
will be grant funded.
IT. Accept and appropriate $75,000 from the Texas Department of State Health Services for
the Workforce grant for a total appropriation of $1,575,000.
M. Accept and appropriate $1,364,651 from the Texas Health and Human Services
Commission for the Adult Treatment grant for a toted appropriation of $2,645,630.
SECTION 2. THAT a copy of the changes made to the City of Lubbock Budget
pursuant to this Ordinance shall be filed with the City Secretary and County Clerk of Lubbock
as required by law.
SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word of
this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this
Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
