RESOLUTION
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
THAT the Mayor of the City of Lubbock BE and is hereby authorized and
directed to approve for and on behalf of the City of Lubbock, a Federal Transit
Administration Section 5307 Grant (Project #TX-90-X563-00) to provide operating,
capital, and planning assistance for FY 2002. Said Grant is attached hereto and
incorporated in this Resolution as if fully set forth herein and shall be included in the
minutes of the City Council.
Passed by the City Council this 29th day of August , 2002.

This money will be used to construct three bus shelters on the Texas Tech Campus. The shelters will be
in the central part of campus located around memorial circle. This is the location where the majority of our
passengers utilize our transportation system. Each shelter will be approximately 12 X 17 to 12 X 27. This
line item will also include other area of improvement around the shelters to include benches and
sidewalks. The shelters will be lighted for evening use.

of bus shelters, are they prefab and slab or other typse. General locations will also be helpful, ie

FTA funding in the amount of $3,166,249 covers capital, operating assistance, and planning
costs on the grant budget.
The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) projected timeable for acting upon the subject grant is
60 days from teh date of this application. In order to meet that timetable, the Department of
Labor certification is requested no later than two weeks prior to that date. Please establish a time
schedule for negotiations pursuant to 29 CFR 215.3(d). Please advise us of the 49 U.S.C.
Section 5333(b) terms and conditions for inclusion in the grant contract.
