RESOLUTION Item No. 31
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
Whereas, a Right -of -Way Deed exists in Section 7, Block B, Lubbock County,
Texas, being a part of that 0.40 acre tract of land conveyed by Marshall Sweeten and
part of that 0.85 acre tract of land conveyed by Lawrence K. Lankford, Jr. and wife
Barbara Lankford to the State of Texas in Right -of -Way Deed recorded in Volume
2453, Page 133 and Volume 1984, Page 337, Deed Records of Lubbock County, Texas
and adjoining that tract of land conveyed to the W M Cameron & Co. in Warranty
Deed recorded in Volume 3938, Page 38, Real Property Records of Lubbock County,
Texas;
Whereas, the land specified is no longer needed for the use of citizens as a road;
Whereas, a release of the right-of-way would enable an abutting landowner,
Cameron Ashley Building Products, more efficient use of the land;
Whereas, the Texas Department of Transportation has made this request of the
City of Lubbock.
Whereas, the property descriptions for said right-of-way are attached in Exhibits
"A" & "B" of this resolution;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Lubbock does not
interpose any objection for the State to sell and release the said right-of-way to the
abutting landowner.

METES AND BOUNDS DESCRIPTION of a 5,492 square foot tract of land located in Section 7, Block B, Lubbock
County, Texas, same being the remainder of Lots 3 and 4, Block 45, Merrill's Addition to the City of Lubbock,
Lubbock County, Texas, according to the map, plat, and/or dedication deed thereof recorded in Volume 26, Page
86, Deed Records of Lubbock County, Texas; the remainder of Lot 5, Diebel Addition to the City of Lubbock,
Lubbock County, Texas, according to the map, plat, and/or dedication deed thereof recorded in Volume 583,
Page 154, Deed Records of Lubbock County, Texas; and the remainder of a tract out of Section 7, Block B,
Lubbock County, Texas; said 5,492 square foot tract being further described as follows:
BEGINNING at a right-of-way marker with brass cap found at the Southeast corner of this tract in the East right-
of-way line of Interstate Highway No. 27, in the North right-of-way line of 22nd Street, and in the West right-of-way
line of Avenue "E" at the original Southeast corner of said Lot 4, Block 45, Merrill's Addition, which bears
N. 87037'24" W., 1581.55 feet and S. 02°22'36" W., 880.33 feet from the Northeast corner of Section 7, Block B;
THENCE N. 87041'28" W., along the East right-of-way line of Interstate Highway No. 27, same being the North
right-of-way line of 22nd Street and the original South line of said Lot 4, Block 45, Merrill's Addition, a distance of
69.00 feet to a concrete nail with cap set for the Southwest corner of this tract;
THENCE N. 25043'57" E. a distance of 173.57 feet to a right-of-way marker with brass cap found in the East right-
of-way line of Interstate Highway No. 27, in the West right-of-way line of Avenue "E", and in the original East line
of said Lot 5, Diebel Addition, at the Northernmost corner of this tract;
THENCE S. 02018'32" W., along the East right-of-way line of Interstate Highway No. 27 and the West right-of-way
line of Avenue "E", a distance of 159.27 feet to the Point of Beginning.
NOTE: Bearings are relative to Interstate Highway 27 right-of-way.
