HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 2023-R0039 - Environmental Protection Agency Grant for Recycling Infrasture - Solid WasteResolution No. 2023-R0039 Item No. 6.12 January 24, 2023 RESOLUTION BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT the City of Lubbock, a home rule municipal corporation, acting through its City Council hereby authorizes the City of Lubbock Solid Waste Services Department to request grant funding under the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Request for Applications for Solid Waste Infrastructure For Recycling (SWIFR) Grant Program for Political Subdivisions of States and Territories; and THAT if the project is funded, the City of Lubbock, acting by and through the City of Lubbock Solid Waste Services Department, will comply with the grant requirements of the EPA and SWIFR Grant Program for Political Subdivisions of States and Territories; and THAT the grant funds will be used only for the purposes for which they are intended under the grant; and THAT activities will comply with and support the design, construction and implementation of infrastructure to support recycling in the City of Lubbock and the surrounding region; and THAT the City Council finds it to be in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Lubbock in order to expedite the performance of city business, to delegate authority to execute any necessary or related documents associated with the EPA and SWIFR Grant Program for Political Subdivisions of States and Territories and the authority to act on behalf of the City of Lubbock in all matters related to the grant application and any subsequent grant contract and grant project that may result; to the City Manager of the City of Lubbock, or his designee.
