HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 2022-O0174 - Budget Amendment #6 - 01/10/2023First Reading December 13, 2022 Item No. 5.2 ORDINANCE NO. 2022-00174 Second Reading January 10, 2023 Item No. 5.1 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FY 2022-23 BUDGET FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES RESPECTING THE GRANT FUND TO ACCEPT AND APPROPRIATE FUNDING FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF STATE HEALTH SERVICES AND THE TEXAS HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES COMMISSION; PROVIDING FOR FILING; AND PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE WHEREAS, Section 102.010 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas authorizes the City Council to make changes in the budget for municipal purposes; and WHEREAS, in accordance with the City Budget Ordinance the City Council shall approve all transfers between funds; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it advisable to change the FY 2022-23 Budget for municipal purposes and reallocate funds as follows; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the City Council of the City of Lubbock hereby approves changes to the City of Lubbock Budget FY 2022-23 (Budget Amendment #6) for municipal purposes, as follows: I. Amend the Public Health cost center 5415 by adding two additional full-time positions, Public Health Liaison and Disease Intervention Specialist Supervisor. The new positions will be grant funded. II. Accept and appropriate $75,000 from the Texas Department of State Health Services for the Workforce grant for a total appropriation of $1,575,000. III. Accept and appropriate $1,364,651 from the Texas Health and Human Services Commission for the Adult Treatment grant for a total appropriation of $2,645,630. SECTION 2. THAT a copy of the changes made to the City of Lubbock Budget pursuant to this Ordinance shall be filed with the City Secretary and County Clerk of Lubbock as required by law. SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
