RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock and the Steering Committee of the Lubbock
Urban Transportation Study acting in its capacity as the Metropolitan Planning
Organization entered into a contract dated November 12, 1981; and
WHEREAS, this contract expires September 30, 1982; and
WHEREAS, both parties hereto desire to extend said contract through
September 30, 1983; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
THAT the Mayor of the City of Lubbock BE and is hereby authorized and
directed to execute for and on behalf of the City of Lubbock a contract between
the City of Lubbock and the Lubbock Urban Transportation Study acting in its
capacity as the Metropolitan Planning Organization to extend the prior con-
tract executed between the parties through September 30, 1983, attached here-
with which shall be spread upon the minutes of the Council and as spread upon
the minutes of this Council shall constitute a part of this Resolution as if
fully copied herein in detail.
Passed by the City Council this 26th day of st 1982.

At the present time, the city of Lubbock is performing certain transportation
planning tasks and receiving reimbursement with Section 112 Planning Funds.
Reimbursement is provided for in a contract dated November 12, 1981, between
the city of Lubbock and the Steering Committee of the Lubbock Urban Transport-
ation Study acting in its capacity as the Metropolitan Planning Organization.
The present contract expires September 30, 1982. The enclosed contract
provides for the extension of the contract through September 30, 1983.
Please sign and return both copies of the contract to this office for complete
execution. Approval by the Steering Committee and the Federal Highway
Administration will provide for continued funding of planning tasks as they
are set forth in the current Unified Work Program.
If there are any questions, please call Mr. Glenn Johnson of our District
Office.

This Contract, entered into this 26th day of August
1982, by and between the Steering Committee of the Lubbock Urban.
Transportation Study (Metropolitan Planning Organization), hereinafter
referred as the "MPO" and the City of Lubbock, Texas, herinafter referred
to as the "City".
WITNESSETH
Whereas, on October 23, 1975, the MPO entered into a contract with the
City of Lubbock, Texas;
Now therefore, it is hereby agreed that the aforementioned contract of
October 23, 1975, shall, subject to the condition hereinafter stated, be
extended to cover the period from September 1, 1982, through August 31,
1983. Work will be performed as set forth in the Unified Work Program FY
1983 (September 1, 1982 - August 31, 1983).
Condition:
Exhibit "B" attached hereto shall replace Exhibit "B" as attached to
the aforementioned contract of October 23, 1975.

In testimony whereof, the parties hereto have caused these presents to
be executed on the aforementioned date.
