HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 1179 - CO#4 To Contract - Carrothers Inc - Renovations, SW Water Relamation Plant - 08_12_1982RESOLUTION 1179 - 8/12/82 (Amends Reso. 992, 12/10/81) JWF:cl RF.g0T.TTTT0N BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNKIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT the Mayor of the City of Lubbock BE and is hereby authorized and directed to execute for and on behalf of the City of Lubbock Change Order No. 4 to a Contract heretofore entered into by and between said City and Carrothers Construction Company, Inc. for the renovations to the Southeast Water Reclama- tion Plant at Lubbock, Texas pursuant to G.W.O. 11576 for application of repair mortar paid for on a unit basis, attached herewith which shall be spread upon the minutes of the Council and as spread upon the minutes of this Council shall constitute and be a part of this Resolution as if fully copied herein in detail. P. 0. Box 269 Paola, Kansas 66071 General description of work included in original contract: Renovations to the Southeast Water Reclamation Plant. None WHEREAS, it is desirable to make charges in the work to be constructed under this project. THIS AGREEMENT WITNESSETH: In consideration of the mutual advantage gained, the Owner and the Contractor agree to the changes indicated below and further agree that the amount of the contract shall be adjusted by the amount shown above. 1. Apply repair mortar to reinforcing steel exposed after sandblasting in the interior walls of the Primary Sludge Sump at Plant No. 1. Repair mortar shall be paid for on a unit basis with the contract amount to be adjusted upward or downward as required, by additional change order, based on the actual number of units installed and accepted in the work at the listed unit price. Apply protective coating to the interior of the Primary Sludge Sump at Plant No. 1 in lieu of the coal -tar epoxy system specified. ADD $8,340.00 "The following procedures shall be used in applying protective coating to the Primary Sludge Sump at Plant No. 1: 1. All interior surfaces, including walls, roof and ceiling shall be sandblasted as originally specified in Paragraph 13.3, Section 11, of the contract specifications. 2. Reinforcing steel exposed after sandblasting shall be covered with one coat of SikaTop 122 Repair Mortar applied to a minimum thickness of 1/4-inch over the bars and feathered out on either side. Material shall be mixed and applied in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations including priming vertical and overhead surfaces with Component A. 3. Delete the three coats of coal -tar epoxy as originally specified. 4. Apply by spray two coats of Ceilcote 680 Primer/Saturant Epoxy Compound in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations to all interior surfaces. First coat shall be thinned with 24 fluid ounces of methyl ethyl ketone per gallon. Second coat shall be applied without thinning. Coverage rates shall be as specified by the manufacturer. 5. Manufacturer's recommendations regarding handling and applying the materials and safety precautions shall be strictly observed." The aforementioned changes and work affected thereby, are subject to all contract stipulations and covenants.
