RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION 877 - 7/23/81
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
THAT the Mayor of the City of Lubbock BE and is hereby authorized and
directed to execute for and on behalf of the City of Lubbock a Quit Claim Deed
with the Federal Aviation Administration to take over the responsibility
of Visual Approach Slope Indicator on runway 26 which is attached herewith
which shall be spread upon the minutes of the Council and as spread upon the
minutes of this Council shall constitute and be a part of this Resolution as
if fully copied herein in detail.
Passed by the City Council this 23rd day of ul ,1981.

QUITCLAIM DEED
THIS INDENTURE, made as of 23rd day of July 1981, between
the CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS, acting through the Deputy Director of Aviation and
hereinafter referred to as GRANTOR, and the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, represented
by the Federal Aviation Administration, hereinafter referred to as GRANTEE:
WITNESSETH:
That Grantor, for and in consideration of the assumption by the Grantee
of all obligations and its covenant to abide by an agreement to certain conditions,
all as set forth hereinafter, does hereby remise, release, and quitclaim unto
Grantee, its transferees, successors, and assigns, under the conditions set
forth hereinafter all the Grantor's rights, title, and interests of the visual
approach slope indicator (VAST) serving Runway 26 at the Lubbock International
Airport, more particularly described as:
1. VASI - 4 box "SEPCO" - FAA-ID-L-851
Panel Assembly - Part No. 25730-2-AS, SN-166
4 Ea. Lamp Housing, Part No. 25663-2
Included, but not limited to the following items of personal property and
fixtures attached to the real property:
1. a. Equipment - 1 Ea. Aiming or Walker Bar -
Part No. 258645, SN-104
b. 1 Ea. VASI Calibration Bar - Part No. 258640, SN-104
EXCEPTING, HOWEVER, from this conveyance all rights, title, and interest
of Grantor in any real properties of the Grantor in, under, and around the
aforesaid property hereunder transferred to Grantee, and located on and within
Grantor's (Lubbock International Airport) boundaries.
All the property described hereinabove and transferred hereunder having
been determined by the City of Lubbock, Texas and the Deputy Director of
Aviation that they desire to quitclaim said property to the United States of
America, for use by the Federal Aviation Administration.
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD said property, with all its appurtenances unto the
Grantee, its assigns and transferees, and as authorized by Advisory Circular
170-9, dated November 26, 1968.
By the acceptance of this deed or any rights hereunder said Grantee
agrees to operate and maintain the properties for the benefit of air carriers,
general aviation aircraft personnel, and the normal use of the facilities by
the general public.
It is understood and agreed between the parties hereto that the facilities
and equipment are in good working order at the time of this conveyance and is
so accepted by the Grantee.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, Grantor has caused the presents to be executed as of
the day and year first above written. The effective date of this agreement
shall be July 23, 1981
