A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO THE COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT ANNUAL APPLICATION FOR 1979-80, DELETING PROJECT A-43
STUDY FOR HANDICAPPED HOUSING AND REALLOCATING THE FUNDS THEREFOR FOR A COM-
PREHENSIVE HOUSING STUDY FOR HANDICAPPED PERSONS.
WHEREAS, Project A-43, Study for Handicapped Housing has been found to
be ineligible for funding under the Community Development Block Grant Application
for 1979-80, project number B-79-MC-48-0022, and
WHEREAS, the $6,000.00 funding for that ineligible project needs to be
reallocated to an eligible project; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the Mayor of the City of Lubbock BE and is hereby
authorized to execute on behalf of the City of Lubbock, an amendment to the
Community Development Block Grant Annual Application for 1979-80 reallocating
the $6,000.00 funding for Project A-43 Study of Handicapped Housing to line
16a of the Cost Summary for such application and to be used for a Comprehensive
Housing Study for Handicapped Persons.
Passed by the City Council this 25th day of April , 1979.

10. DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT
The City of Lubbock Planning Dept. and Community Development Dept. as well as
local agencies and organizations have found a deficiency in the type and qualit
of data relating to the handicapped persons residing in Lubbock. The City of
Lubbock purposes to develop a comprehensive housing study to determine the num-
ber of handicapped persons, the types of handicapped persons, the needs of the
people for housing and housing assistance. Included in the study will be an
evaluation of 'incomes, family size, capability of independent living and other
related data. Upon completion the study will be available to all City Dept's.
and local agencies and organizations to be used in developing or expanding hous-
ing programs for the handicapped. The study will also help identify other need
of the handicapped.
