Contract For Water Reclamation Proj. - 07/08/2010Resolution No. 2010-RO311 July 8, 2010 Item No. 5.12 RESOLUTION BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT the Mayor of the City of Lubbock is hereby authorized and directed to execute for and on behalf of the City of Lubbock, Change Order No. 10 to Contract No. 8119 by and between the City of Lubbock and Eagle Contracting, L.P., for the Southeast Water Reclamation Plant Improvement per Bid # 07 -730 -BM, and related documents. Said Change Order No. 10 is attached hereto and incorporated in this resolution as if fully set forth herein and shall be included in the minutes of the City Council. Date: May 26, 2010 BID/ITB #: 07 -730 -BM Contract #: 8119 Project Name: Southeast Water Reclamation Plant Improvement Change Order within the scope of the contract means a Change Order that DOES NOT ALTER THE NATURE OF THE THING TO BE CONSTRUCTED AND THAT IS AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE PROJECT OBJECTIVE. After performance of a construction contract begins, Change Orders may be approved if necessary to 1) make changes in plans or specifications; or 2) decrease or increase the quantity of work to be performed or materials, equipment, or supplies to be furnished. Description of change (alteration, deviation, addition, or deletion) caused by conditions encountered during construction not covered by the specifications and drawings of the project (attach additional pages if necessary): This change Order includes modifications to the TWAS pump controls, a credit for not demolishing existing waste activated sludge pump WP -501, modifications of the waste activated sludge suction line at pump P-4501, the addition of a pipe support on the existing waste activated sludge discharge line, the inclusion of a temporary blow off valve on the blower discharge header, the addition of an electrical outlet and concrete pad at Primary Clarifier 3, the replacement of fuses in MCLU-400, the installation of a permanent seed line to the three BNR basins, modifications to the waste activated sludge pump suction line, and programming modifications to RTU -7. The total cost of this change order is $79,131.11. Change Orders must either be negotiated in the best interest of the City of Lubbock or put out for public bid by the Purchasing Department. Where the Change Order is negotiated, the Change Order must be fully documented and itemized as to costs, including material quantities, material costs, taxes, insurance, employee benefits, other related costs, profit and overhead.
