RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Emergency Connectivity Fund (ECF) is a $7.17 billion program funded
by the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 to help schools and libraries support remote
learning. The Program provides funding to schools and libraries for the reasonable costs
of eligible equipment and services that can be provided to students, teachers, and library
patrons who lack connected devices, such as laptop or tablet computers, and/or lack
broadband access during the pandemic; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock (the "City") accepted ECF grant funds on April 12,
2022 via Resolution No. 2022-0182; and
WHEREAS, the City has received an additional Funding Commitment Decision Letter
(FCDL), attached hereto and incorporated herein, providing for additional ECF grant
funds; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
THAT the City Council hereby accepts the additional funds from the ECF Program, and
directs staff to appropriate and utilize those funds in accordance with the ECF Program
requirements.
