CONSENT AGENDA ITEM #/SUBJECT: # Consider approval of a Federal Transit Administration FY 2010 Section 5307 grant application, to provide preventative maintenance, ADA paratransit, capital, planning assistance, and relocation expenses associated with the purchase of land for expansion. (Citibus) BACKGROUND DISCUSSION: Citibus has filed a grant application in the amount of $3,156,313 with the Federal Transit Administration for a FY 2010 Section 5307 grant. This is a routine grant that Citibus receives on an annual basis. The funds for this grant will be used for preventative maintenance, non -fixed route ADA paratransit, planning, relocation expenses associated with the purchase of land for Citibus administrative/maintenance building renovation/expansion, and capital, which includes transit enhancements, and ADA accessible supervisory vans. It may be two to three months before Citibus has an approved contract and the final amount awarded could change between the application and approval dates. Citibus has pre -award authority on the Section 5307 grant. The FTA Section 5307 grant requires a local match of twenty percent. FISCAL IMPACT: The match required for this grant has already been included in the FY 2010 Citibus budget. Acceptance of this grant application will result in no additional cost to the City of Lubbock. SUMMARYIRECOMMENDATION: Citibus recommends the approval of the Federal Transit Administration FY 10 Section 5307 Grant application.
