Van r, Attorney o 0 Set DDres/DSHScon06Pop®aseSvcsRes July 27, 2006 City of Lubbock IuterOffice Memo To: Lee Ann Dumbauld, City Manager From: Tommy Camden, Health Director Date: June 25, 2007 Subject: Agenda Item for July 12, 2007 City Council Meeting, Consent Agenda CITY OF LUBBOCK AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY ITEM # / SUMMARY: Consider a resolution authorizing and directing the Mayor to execute for and on behalf of the City of Lubbock, a Change No. 001A to the DSHS Contract No. 2007-020411 CHS-Population Based Services and any associated documents, by and between the City of Lubbock and the Texas Department of State Health Services. BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION: The CHS-Population Based Services contract was originally approved by Council with Resolution # 2006-RO400 on August 24, 2006. The current Contract Change Notice No. 001A to DSHS Document No. 2007-020411 reduces approved funding from $107,414.00 to total payments not exceeding $3,500. This is due to delays in hiring a Health Education Coordinator to fully implement the program. The FY 06- 07 is now considered a planning year and full funding is expected to be executed and restored with the FY 07-08 contract for the actual implementation of the program objectives. The $3,500 will cover expenses for identifying and validating the curriculum for parent education to reduce teen pregnancy and STDs, formation and meetings for the teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted disease (STD) coalition, and assuring that the project has adequate sample size. FISCAL IMPACT: There is no impact to the general fund. SUMMARYIREC O MMEN DATION: Scott Snider, Assistant City Manager Tommy Camden, Health Director
