HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 2012-R0122 - Contract - Salvation Army - Homelss Prevention And Rapid Rehousing - 03_29_2012Resolution No. 2012-RO122 March 29, 2012 Item No. 5.22 RESOLUTION BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT the Mayor of the City of Lubbock is hereby authorized and directed to execute for and on behalf of the City of Lubbock, an Amendment to a Community Development funding Contract by and between the City of Lubbock and Salvation Army, a Georgia Corporation, for the Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re -housing Program, and all related documents. Said Amendment is attached hereto and incorporated in this Resolution as if fully set forth herein and shall be included in the minutes of the City Council. Passed by the City Council this March 29 , 2012. WHEREAS, the Contractor and the City have previously entered into an Agreement dated 24th day of September, 2009 (hereinafter called "the Agreement"); and WHEREAS, the City and the Contractor hereby desire to amend said agreement. NOW THEREFORE, the City and the Contractor hereby agree to amend the Agreement as follows: 1 } Paragraph I. C. 1. Of the Agreement is hereby amended as follows: "City agrees to provide Contractor assistance from the Department of Housing and Urban Development funds in an additional amount not to exceed $15,000 in addition to the $400,000 in HPRP funds previously granted in the Agreement in return for Contractor performing the activities set forth in this Contract as consideration for said funds." 2) This Amendment shall be effective on as of the date this Agreement is executed. 3) This amendment to the Agreement shall be effective upon execution. The remainder of the Agreement shall remain in full force and affect except as changed herein. Organizations contracting and/or cooperating with The Salvation Army may be assured that because The Salvation Army is rooted in Christian compassion and is governed by Judeo-Christian ethics, The Salvation Army will strictly observe all provisions of its contracts and agreements.
